When is an in person ADHD assessment recommended?

An in-person assessment may be more appropriate in some situations, including: younger children who may find it difficult to engage online (Minimum 20 minutes on camera), individuals with additional developmental or learning needs, situations where behaviour is difficult to observe remotely, and more complex or unclear presentations. If this applies, we will explain why and talk through the options with you.

Will a private ADHD diagnosis be accepted by the NHS and (if relevant) my child's school?

I don't have anyone to help with the pre-assessment questionnaires, will this affect my assessment? (For adults)

We typically request input from someone who has known you since your early years to provide supplementary information during the assessment process. However, we recognise that some people may not have access to someone who can provide this historical context. While having this additional perspective is valuable, its absence won't prevent the ADHD assessment from proceeding. In such situations, we encourage you to share relevant historical documentation that might provide insights into your earlier experiences - such as academic records or previous assessments.
